Colorado’s climate normally dictates that you reroof your home on a regular basis. Between hail storms, tornadoes and heavy snow our roofs incur a lot of wear and tear over the years. Even the best shingle roofs typically only have a 15 to 30 year product warranty. If you consider the fact that a builder’s warranty is normally only for two years — then a good storm with great insurance is a good thing to have.

There are three basic steps to refoofing a home in Colorado –

1. Prep

In the prep phase we typically need to measure the roof to get a calculation of how much materials you need to use. We use modern satellite technology to give us the measurements of your home and provide us with an overview of your location. Many times we need to get a permit for your work and bring in a dumpster or truck to haul the old materials away.

2. Remove Old Roofing

We typically try to remove old shingles one section at a time. We remove the flashing, drip molding and pull out any nails that may be remaining. After initial cleanup we inspect your roof for any damage which may not be visible when the roof was on top. We need to ensure we have a strong deck to work on.

3. Putting on the New Roof

The felt paper is your last line of defense against water leaking into your home. It is imperative that this be done correctly to eliminate any potential damage to your home. We install flashing, drip molding and new gutters if necessary. Flashing is critical for skylights around standup pipes, chimneys, etc. to keep water leaks from happening. Whether you are looking for asphalttilemetalflat or even a living roof, we can assist you with color selection, grade of materials and the pros and cons of each type of roof. We install the roof in accordance with manufacturers specifications and ensure their warranty work.

4. Cleanup

Cleanup is often the most important thing to a homeowner as it leaves a final impression of the quality of our work. We strive to leave  your home in the same condition it was in when we arrived. We make every attempt to try and not harm shrubbery and trees near the work site. In short we want to treat your home, like it was our own.
